Oral Components - Reading aloud
In reading aloud, students are to take note of their Pace/ Pronunciation/Intonation/Emotion
Take note that when you see a punctuation that is used to end a sentence:
full stop . question mark ? exclamation mark !
you are to pause for 2 seconds.
When you see:
comma , semi colon ; colon :
you are to pause for 1 second.
Take note of pronunciation of specific letters like:

Intonation and Emotion are very important. It is what makes your story interesting. When reading, one must read with expression and inject emotions into your reading. Your voice must move like the roller coaster, going up and down.
However, remember not to be overly exaggerated !!
Intonation and Emotion is especially important when it comes to dialogues. Look at the dialogue tag carefully and express it accordingly.
"Watch out!" Melissa shrieked.
"Stop running around!" Father hollered.
"I have no idea what is going on." Lina muttered.
One good way to practice oral reading is to do some tongue twister.
